Twitter Blue launched in India US Gets Longer Tweets Up To 4,000 Characters

Twitter relaunched its Blue verification subscription in December, and launched an annual subscription plan, but Blue was limited to select countries. Now it has finally launched the Twitter Blue service with India, Brazil and Indonesia.

Pricing

Twitter Blue subscription is priced at Rs. 650 for the web and Rs. 900 for iOS / Android monthly, and the annual web pricing is Rs. 6,800. In comparison, it costs $8 (Rs. 660 approx.) for the web, $11 (Rs. 900 approx.) for iOS / Android for monthly plans and $84 (Rs. 6,940 approx.).

Longer Tweets

In the US, Twitter has rolled out ‘Longer Tweets feature’ for the Blue subscribers that let them Tweet up to 4,000 characters. You can also compose longer Tweets in a Quote Tweet or reply, and add 4 photos, a GIF, or a video in your Tweet, similar to any other Tweet.

Everyone will be able to read longer Tweets. In timeline, only 280 characters will be shown, and you will see “Show more” prompt to click and read the whole Tweet.

Longer Tweets are created the exact same way you would a regular Tweet. When you reach 280 characters, the word count will switch from tracking your progress around the perimeter of the circle icon to filling it. Similar to a normal Tweet, Twitter Blue users also get 30 minutes to edit a Longer Tweet.

Availability

Twitter Blue is currently available in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the UK, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, India, Indonesia, and Brazil, and the company plans to expand it to more countries in the future.
