Will Richard Madden Play The Male Lead Priyanka Chopra Alia Bhatt And Katrina Kaif’s Jee Le Zaraa

Priyanka Chopra, who has been on a signing spree, bagging lead roles in big-ticket Hollywood films and web series, also announced her Bollywood next ‘Jee Le Zaraa’, with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. The big project to be helmed by Farhan Akhtar was announced in 2021 but was later put on the back burner after Priyanka and Alia went the family way.

The film was back in the news when Farhan touched down in Rajasthan, to scout for locations. Rumours then stated that Shah Rukh Khan was being tapped to possibly feature in a cameo in the film.

While Priyanka was in the city with Richard Madden promoting their upcoming spy series on Prime Video ‘Citadel’, ETimes asked the hunk if he would like to play the male lead in the upcoming film. Without any hesitation, Richard gave his nod and said, “Absolutely!”

“I’m available. I can just start working really hard now, be ready in 9 months, 12 months, 2 years,” he quipped.

On seeing the hunk’s excitement to get going on the Bollywood film, Priyanka added, “Yeah, he probably will actually! Knowing him, he’ll probably learn the language, and come and teach me new words.”

The last time fans saw Richard rock a kurta and dhoti, was for a wedding sequence in the Marvel superhero film ‘Eternals’. When asked about how he felt to finally touch down in India, Richard said, “It’s brilliant to be here. I’ve always wanted to come to India and I’ve never been here, so this is me just dipping my toe in. So hopefully I get to spend more time here.”

Priyanka also expressed her desire to fly home and make frequent visits to the country. “It’s always lovely to be back home. I look for excuses to come to Bombay (Mumbai). I don’t come often enough. COVID kept me away and my family away for a very long time. But now, you know, I was here a few months ago for Anomaly, I’ve come back for Citadel. I’m looking for reasons to keep coming back and especially now to be able to bring my family here and I think we’ll do that a lot more.”

‘Jee Le Zaraa’ was scheduled to go on floors last year, but according to the latest reports, the stars are expected to begin shooting for the film next year.
