Being the son of an acclaimed action director Sham Kaushal, it is only natural to expect that Sunny Kaushal would also be good at action and be more than happy to try his hand with action films and stunts. Confirming that thought, Sunny reveals that he is in love with action.
Talking about it in an Exclusive interview with ETimes, Sunny says, “I love action and it is not because it is in my blood. I was fortunate enough to work with Dad on the web show The Forgotten Army- Azaadi Ke Liye, which was directed by Kabir Khan. It was a complete action oriented show with elaborate war sequences. The way dad approaches action is that you will hit someone when you have reached that point of anger. How affected are you that you can pick a gun or hit a person with your hands, without emotions, action has no meaning. So as an actor I love the fact that I can bring out so much emotion with my physicality during action. And it was during ‘Forgotten Army’ that I realized that I love emotions wherein I have to give my 100 percent. So I would love to do a lot of action films and web shows with action.”
Sunny also stated that he hardly has any memory of going to his dad’s set during his growing up years. But once he decided to be part of the industry, he used to go and observe the process of filmmaking.
Sham Kaushal has been choreographing action in films for decades. In recent years, he’s worked on titles like Ponniyin Selvan, Bajirao Mastani and even the Dhoom series. Sunny is currently getting a lot of appreciation for his latest film Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, where he was paired opposite Yami Gautam.
