With so many anticipated launch events planned for September, Sony has scheduled a ‘Xperia New Product Announcement’ event for September 1st in Japan. It should introduce the Xperia 5 IV smartphone at the event.

Sony has announced the event with a video featuring musician Cat Burns, who filmed her latest music video, “People Pleaser,” with the new upcoming Xperia phone. At the end of the video, Sony quotes “Be Creative. Go Compact,” implying the launch of a compact phone.
The Xperia 5 IV, Sony’s successor to the Xperia 5 III, which debuted back in April 2021, is anticipated to be announced at the event. The Xperia 5 IV will launch with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and a camera setup similar to the Xperia 5 III with three 12MP sensors, according to rumours and a more recent FCC certification. Additionally, a 6-inch OLED screen and wireless charging are anticipated for the device.
The Sony Xperia launch event starts at 4PM Japan time (12.30PM IST), and the event will be streamed live on the Sony Xperia YouTube channel.
