Samsung Galaxy Watch5 And Watch5 Pro With 1.2 / 1.4″ Super AMOLED Sapphire Display Larger Battery Faster Charging Announced

At the Galaxy Unpacked event today, Samsung also refreshed its Galaxy Watch series with the launch of the Galaxy Watch5 Series. The series consists of two watches—Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro—and comes with a Sapphire Crystal display, BioActive Sensor, runs on Exynos W920 Dual-Core, One UI Watch4.5 and more. Let’s have a closer look at these two new smartwatches.

Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Series

The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro share similar specifications, except for the fact that the latter has a more durable titanium casing compared to the Armor Aluminum casing on the former. These feature a 5ATM + IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and are MIL-STD-810G compatible.

There’s also a special Galaxy Watch5 Golf Edition smartwatch that comes with exclusive watch faces, a two-tone band, and an unlimited membership on the Smart Caddie app.

The Galaxy Watch5 series has 1.2′′ and 1.4′′ Super AMOLED Sapphire Crystal displays. Samsung claims that sapphire crystal is more resistant to wear and tear and that the display is protected by a durable titanium casing with a protruded bezel design.

These watches are powered by the Dual-Core Exynos W920 processor along with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. When it comes to software, the Galaxy Watch5 series comes with One UI Watch4.5 based on WearOS 3.5.

Samsung’s BioActive Sensor that debuted on the Galaxy Watch4 series is also available in this series. The BioActive Sensor employs a single chip that integrates three sophisticated health sensors—optical heart rate, electrical heart signal, and bioelectrical impedance analysis—to measure heart rate, blood oxygen level, and stress. Users can also check their blood pressure and ECG from their wrists.

Samsung claims that the Galaxy Watch5 can measure health parameters more precisely than the Galaxy Watch4 due to increased wrist contact. Additionally, to aid users in understanding their wellness, the Galaxy Watch5’s powerful 3-in-1 BioActive Sensor combines with other sensors, such as the recently added temperature sensor.

The new Body Composition measuring tool provides a comprehensive picture of the user’s overall health, allowing them to set objectives, guide them through customised workouts, and track progress. The watch also includes an upgraded sleep coach to help you sleep better.

The batteries of the Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro are 13% and 60% larger, respectively, than in the Watch4. Furthermore, One UI Watch4.5 provides a more comprehensive typing experience, a more convenient way to initiate calls, and a slew of new accessibility features that make the Galaxy Watch more intuitive.
