redBus launched a separate lite app, called “redRail,” for Android back in April 2022. The app was intended to improve millions of train passengers’ online travel booking experiences.
Now the company has widened the app’s availability to iOS, enabling iPhone users to book train tickets anytime, anywhere. The app has been tested to work smoothly and book IRCTC train tickets even in locations with limited internet speed, on devices with minimal memory configuration, as well as on phones running outdated versions of Android, for example.
The IRCTC-authorized app offers confirmed train bookings, alongside other user conveniences such as PNR status updates, train schedule feature and more. Besides UPI payments, the app lets you pay with credit cards, debit cards, and net banking, as well as with other types of payment.
redRail App new features
The redRail app’s new “Confirmation Probability” feature lets users know the odds of getting a waitlisted ticket before booking. A waitlisted ticket with a confirmation probability of over 75% is likely to be confirmed.
It is claimed that redRail’s Confirmation Probability feature is derived from sophisticated data science algorithms that take into account historical patterns and train/route-specific characteristics.
redRail by redBus has added redRail Confirm to its “Confirmation Probability” feature. Advanced algorithms identify available confirmed seats in the same train from other stations. Users can instantly book these seats and board/alight at their desired stations with route extensions. This lets them reserve seats on a waitlisted train.
