Redmi today confirmed the launch of Redmi K50i, the company’s latest smartphone in the K series in India on July 20th. This comes after the launch of Redmi K20 series in India in 2019. The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition was launched in India as POCO F3 GT and the K40 series were launched in India as Mi 11X series last year.

As you can see from the image in the launch poster, the phone looks similar to the Redmi Note 11T Pro / Pro+ 5G series. As per rumours the K50i is the same as the Note 11T Pro which was launched in China in May.

The Redmi Note 11T Pro and Note 11T Pro+ feature a 6.6-inch FHD+ LCD screen with 144Hz 7-step variable refresh rate, support for DC dimming and Dolby Vision and a 16MP front camera inside the punch-hole.

These are powered by Dimensity 8100 SoC with support for VC liquid cooling, a 64MP rear camera along with a 8MP ultra-wide-angle and a 2MP macro camera. These have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Based on earlier rumours, the Redmi K50i Pro is said to feature a 108MP camera while retaining other specifications.

The Redmi Note 11T Pro and Pro+ pack 5,080mAh and 4,400mAh batteries, respectively. The former supports 67W wired charging, and the latter supports 120W fast charging with a single cell and Xiaomi Surge P1 chip.

The Redmi K50i will be sold on Amazon.in, in addition to mi.com and offline stores. We will have to check out if the phone will be priced around Rs. 20,000, same as China, when it is launched in a couple of weeks.
