Realme To Invest Rs. 26.8 Crores For Manufacturing Buds Air 3 in India

realme has announced that it will invest INR 26.8 crores for the manufacturing of realme Buds Air 3 in India, re-affirming the firm’s commitment to the government’s “Make in India” initiative. realme claims that there’ll be up to 1,000 employment opportunities created in India as a result of this initiative.

realme has partnered with KHY Electronics for the manufacturing of Buds Air 3 and is expected to accelerate the local procurement of production consumables, product accessories, and packaging materials, creating more labor demand for local Indian suppliers.

Furthermore, realme Buds Air 3 is said to be India’s first locally produced Active Noise Cancellation TWS earbuds with 100 percent localized production in the country, and the company is working toward 100 percent local production of hearables and wearables as well, to meet the surging needs of millions of technology users in the country.

India is gradually but steadily becoming a manufacturing powerhouse. We reported yesterday that “Made in India” smartphone shipments increased by 7% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022, indicating an expansion of India’s manufacturing facilities.

Since 2019, Realme has also made a contribution by investing INR 300 crores in the establishment of eight SMT lines in India for smartphone manufacturing. It will be interesting to see how this manufacturing practice in India develops in the future.
