OPPO just announced the Find N2 and the Find N2 Flip smartphones in China, as it had promised. The Find N2 is the successor to last year’s Find N with several changes, and the Find N2 Flip is the company’s first foldable phones.
OPPO Find N2 Display
The Find N2 has the same 7.1-inch inner AMOLED screen with 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, but the peak brightness has increased to 1550 nits. The outer display is 5.54-inches slighter larger than the predecessor, has peak brightness is 1350 nits and gets upgraded to 120Hz compared to 60Hz in the predecessor. The screen also supports OPPO Pen stylus with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity.
Weight and Hinge
The Find N2 weighs just 233g for the leather and 237g for the glass model compared to 275g in the Find N. At the same time, the thickness of the device in the unfolded and folded are 7.4mm and 14.6mm, respectively, which are 13.2% and 8.5% thinner than the previous generation.
This is achieved by significant improvements to the drop-shaped hinge and the screen substrate. This has a lighter carbon fiber and high-strength titanium alloys, reducing weight without sacrificing sturdiness. Thanks to new engineering and design, the number of components on the hinge has also been reduced from 138 in the first generation to 100. The combination of these allowed OPPO to reduce 42g compared to the older generation.
The advanced Flexion Hinge allows the device to freely stand when unfolded at any angle between 45-125 degrees. The device has also been certified by TÜV for 400,000 times of folding. With the new hinge, the crease in the middle of the inner screen is “67% less” than Find N, says the company.
Camera and Battery
The phone has a 50MP main camera with IMX890 sensor, 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera with IMX581 sensor and 32MP 2X RGBW telephoto camera with IMX709 sensor. There is a 32MP front camera, and it has OPPO’s self-developed MariSilicon X NPU as well as Hasselblad tuning.
It still uses Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage, and has a 4,520mAh battery that supports 67W wired charging, which can be fully charged in about 42 minutes. OPPO has removed the wireless charging feature which was present in the Find N.

OPPO Find N2 Flip
The Find N2 Flip has a 6.8-inch FHD+ Samsung E6 AMOLED 120Hz display, up to 1600 nits peak brightness and there is a 3.26-inch 60Hz AMOLED outer display that lets you check notification, preview for camera and also supports quick reply, QR code/receipt display, pet wallpaper, calendar, timer, weather and more apps.
The Find N2 Flip weighs just 191 grams, and the thickness is 7.45mm when open and 16.02mm when closed. OPPO has used a new generation of drop-shaped hinge. The device has also been certified by TÜV for 400,000 times of folding.
The phone has the same 50MP main camera with IMX890 sensor, but this comes with a 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and 32MP RGBW front camera with IMX709 sensor.
This is the first foldable phone with be powered by Dimensity 9000+ processor, comes with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. It has a 4,300mAh with support for 44W wired charging.

Pricing and availability
The OPPO Find N2 comes in Cloud White, Black and Pine Green colours and is priced at 7999 yuan (US$ 1146 / Rs. 94,860 approx.) for the 12GB + 256GB model and the 16GB + 512GB model costs 8999 yuan (US$ 1290 / Rs. 1,06,720 approx.).
The OPPO Find N2 Flip comes in Gold, Black and Purple colours and is priced at 5,999 yuan (US$ 859 / Rs. 71,160 approx.) for 8GB + 256GB, 6399 yuan (US$ 917 / Rs. 75,905 approx.) for the 12GB + 256GB model and the 16GB + 512GB model costs 6999 yuan (US$ 1003 / Rs. 83,000 approx.).
These are available to order from today, and the Find N2 will be available from December 23rd, while the N2 Flip will be available from December 30th in China.
Update: OPPO has confirmed that the Find N2 Flip will launch in Europe in Q1 2023.
