HONOR held a launch event in Malaysia and announced a slew of devices like a smartphone, a tablet and a laptop. The launched devices include the HONOR 70 5G, MagicBook 14, and Pad 8, and these devices were already launched in China a few months back. Let’s have a closer look at these gadgets, along with their pricing and availability.
HONOR 70 5G:
The HONOR 70 has a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED Super Curved Display and is powered by the Snapdragon 778G Plus SoC with HONOR’s own GPU Turbo X, which keeps high frame rates and low power consumption while running high-rate games.
This smartphone is the first phone to come with a new 1/1.49-inch 54MP Sony IMX800 custom sensor globally. A 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 32MP selfie camera inside a centre punch hole are the other two sensors on the back.
The phones come with a diamond-shaped design on the glass back that matches the colour. The HONOR 70 has a 4,800 mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging.
HONOR Pad 8:
The HONOR Pad 8 is the company’s latest mid-range tablet that has a 12-inch 2K LCD screen with an 87% screen-to-body ratio and is powered by the Snapdragon 680 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM. The tab runs Android 12 with Magic UI 6.1 with the all-new desktop layout. It has 5-megapixel front and rear cameras.
It’s the first Honor Pad that supports multi-screen collaboration. The tablet can interact with the HONOR mobile phone on the same screen, letting you seamlessly drag and drop photos and videos, making it easy to collaborate on the same files.
The tablet has a sleek 6.9mm metal body, 8 speakers, HONOR’s self-developed audio tuning algorithm, DTS audio tuning technology, and has Hi-Res Gold Label certification. It comes with a 7250mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging.
HONOR MagicBook 14 2022:
The HONOR MagicBook 14 2022 has a 14-inch 2.1K 3:2 screen with a 100% sRGB high color gamut and a screen-to-body ratio of 88%. It has TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light and No Screen Flicker triple eye protection certification.
The laptop has an Intel Core i5-12500H processor from the 12th generation, and a 4GB GDDR6 NVIDIA RTX 2050 graphics card is available as an add-on. Note that the company hasn’t announced the Core i7-12650H 10-core processor version in Malaysia yet, but it did so in China when it first came out.
The company said that it is the first notebook with HONOR OS Turbo technology that is thin and light. The company said that this means it uses 39.6% less power and is 17.9% faster.
It has a grille-style dual air inlet design, and the area that can take in air has grown by 31.7%. The new heat dissipation design uses a symmetrical dual fan to move more air, and the overall air volume has grown by 35%. Compared to the previous model, the laptop as a whole can move 56% more heat. The noise from the running is 20dB.
The laptop comes with a 75Wh battery which supports a 135W portable fast charger (unlike the 100W GaN fast charger on the Chinese variant) that supports multiple devices. Charge for 15 minutes to get 3.5 hours of work.

Pricing and Availability:
HONOR 70 5G comes in Crystal Silver, Emerald Green and Midnight Black colours, and is priced at RM 1,999 (US$ 446 / Rs. 35,605 approx) for 8+256 model. The phone is already available for pre-order and consumers who pre-order will get an HONOR Earbuds 2 Lite, Phone Case, 12 extended months warranty for free. Open sale of the smartphone begins from August 26.
HONOR Pad 8 comes in blue colour and is priced at RM 1,399 (US$ 312 / Rs. 24,708) for the 6+128GB model. It will be available for sale in Malaysia from August 27.
The HONOR MagicBook 14 2022 comes in Space Gray colour and is priced at RM 4299 (US$ 960 / Rs. 75,939 approx.) for the Core i5 16+512GB model and the Core i5 with NVIDIA RTX2050 16+512GB model costs RM 5099 (US$ 1,138 / Rs. 90,070 approx.).
