Google Play Points, a global rewards programme, have now been made available to Indian users. This point system is designed to allow users to earn points and incentives for using Google Play in a variety of ways. It will be rolled out to users in India in the coming week.
Google Play Points and its benefits
When you buy things from Google Play, such as in-app purchases, apps, games, and subscriptions, you can earn Google Play Points. The rewards programme is divided into four levels: bronze, silver, gold, and platinum, with each level offering different advantages and prizes dependent on the number of points accumulated.
Google Play will allow you to exchange your points for Google Play Credit, which can be used to purchase applications, games, and digital entertainment from Google Play. To encourage the users, Google Play will allow you to earn five times the Play Points on your first week.
Google claims to have worked with developers of popular apps and games from across the world to allow users to redeem their points for exclusive in-app items. Popular games on the inaugural list included 8 Ball Pool, Evony: The King’s Return, Ludo King, World Trip, and Ludo Star. Famous apps such as Truecaller and Wysa will let you swap your points for special in-app items.
If you’re interested in using them, just open the Play Store app on your Android device. Tap your profile icon on the top right, then tap Play Points. We should see how this points system emerges among developers and consumers in the future.
Regarding Google Play Points system Santos Cohen, Director, Go-To-Market, Google Play Points said,
We are committed to building products and programs that the Play community – both users and developers – find value in. Google Play Points will also provide local developers a new avenue to build a local and global user base; helping them engage their users, drive discovery, and acquire users across markets that have Google Play Points.
