Android 13’s Battery Widget is Now Available For Oixel Devices Running Android 12

With the release of one more beta update from now on, Android 13 stable release is just around the corner. Google recently released Android 13 Beta 3, which allows you to resize the Pixel’s battery widget down to a tile-like 2×1, as well as a particularly useful 5×1 configuration that can show three items at once – phone, left, and right earbud – in a compact manner. Further, with 4×1 size, you can see a pair of Pixel Buds alongside your mobile device.

The good news is that you won’t have to wait until Android 13 to use this feature. Yes! This feature is already available on Android 12 devices, and all you have to do is update the Settings Services app on your Pixel device to the latest 1.1.0.452445739.sr version.

While the battery widget’s previous, more compact setting was 2×2, it can now be resized to a small, tile-like 2×1. The 5×1 size can display up to three devices at once—your phone and both the right and left bud if you have Pixel Buds. The widget also includes an “Other devices” line that displays the number of other Bluetooth devices that are connected, and by tapping it, you can access the phone’s “Connected devices” section in the Bluetooth settings.

To recall, Google released Android 13 beta 2 back in May with new and exciting features for privacy and security, new notification permissions, the privacy-protecting photo picker, and improved permissions for pairing with nearby devices and accessing media files. As of now, the next version of the Android world is exciting to see, and it will be interesting to see how many of the upcoming features actually improve our experience.
