Apple redesign the rear camera layout of the iPhone 16
According to a new rumor from @URedditor on Twitter, Apple could redesign the rear camera layout of the iPhone 16. This rear camera redesign will be among the few changes that’ll distinguish the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus from the iPhone 13, 14, and 15.
As per the report, Apple might switch back to using a vertical rear camera design on the iPhone 16. This camera layout was last seen on the iPhone 12 as the company switched to diagonally-arranged rear camera lenses with the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini.

Apple used the diagonally-arranged rear camera layout in the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus and is confirmed to also use this layout in the soon-to-be-launched iPhone 15 and 15 Plus.
But, if the new rumor is true, then the rear camera layout of the iPhone 16 could look like what we saw on the iPhone 12 and 12 mini. This will make the iPhone 16 stand out from previous iPhone models as it’ll feature the Dynamic Island and USD-C port.
Yellow iPhone 14
The Cupertino giant is expected to launch the iPhone 16 in September of 2024, so there is still enough time to make changes to the design of the device. That said, beyond aesthetics, we don’t know why Apple plan to change the rear camera design of the iPhone 16. The company previously stated that redesigning the rear camera layout with diagonally arranged lenses enables the advanced dual-camera system”.
So, since we expect to see even bigger rear camera sensors on the iPhone 16, one could assume Apple has figured out a way to fit in bigger rear camera sensors and its components’ In a vertical camera layout.
Aside from the bigger 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch display of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, there is no rear camera layout redesign for the top tier.
