MG Comet EV Pricing For 3 Variants Revealed Here’s What’s Different

MG Motor India launched the MG Comet EV, the company’s latest compact electric EV, in India last month. At that time, the company said that the MG Comet will be available at a special introductory price of Rs. 7.98 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Today, it has announced the pricing for 3 models and has also revealed the sale date. Here’s what’s different in these models.

All the models featre a 17.3 kWh Li-ion battery with Prismatic Cells that have undergone 39 battery plus car safety tests for a longer cycle life, said the company. It is IP67-rated for water and dust resistance.

The Comet EV promises around 230 km ARAI certified battery range, on a single charge. It will take 5 hours to charge from 10- 80% and 0-100% will take 7 hours with a 3.3kW charger.

All the models come with Dual Front Airbags, ABS +EBD, Front & Rear 3 pt. Seat Belts, TPMS (Indirect) and ISOFIX rear Child Seat Anchors.

Pricing and availability

The MG Comet EV comes in 5 Colour Options including Dual tone (Apple Green + Starry Black and Candy White+ Starry Black), Apple Green, Candy White, Aurora Silver and Starry Black.

The MG Comet EV starts at 7.98 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the Pace version, the Play version that adds more features costs Rs. 9.28 lakhs (ex-showroom) and the top-end Plush version with all the features is priced at Rs. 9.98 lakhs (ex-showroom). The offer will be limited to the first 5000 bookings, said the company.

Pre-registrations have already begun. The EV will be available to pre-order starting from May 15th, and the deliveries will begin from 22nd May in a phased manner.

Smart Ownership Package

It has also launched a special MG e-Shield ownership package, covering repairs and service costs. The 3-3-3-8 package provides:

  • 3 years or 1 lakh km warranty
  • 3 years Roadside Assistance (RSA)
  • Free labour services – First 3 scheduled services
  • The 17.3 kWh Li-ion battery with IP67 rating and Prismatic Cells comes with 8 years or 1akh 20 thousand Kms warranty.

In addition, MG said that the Comet EV owners can also choose from over 80 carefully designed extended warranty & service packages, starting at Rs. 5000.

Assured Buy Back Program

MG has also launched an optional buy-back program for customers to easily upgrade to their next MG. When customers buy this special package, at the end of 3 years, they get an assured buyback of 60% of the original ex-showroom value.
