HUAWEI unveiled new 2023 models of MateBook D 14 2023 and MateBook D 16 in China, along with the nova 11 series. These MateBooks are equipped with 13th Generation Intel Core Processors that can reach up to i9-13900H Standard Pressure Processors.
HUAWEI MateBook D14 2023 and MateBook D16 2023
The MateBook D14 2023 and MateBook D16 2023 feature a sleek metal body design, thin bezels around the screen, a full-size backlit keyboard, a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button, and a discreet pop-up webcam hidden in the keyboard. Available in Bright Moon Silver and Space Gray, these laptops share a similar aesthetic language.
The main difference between the two models lies in their display size. The MateBook D14 2023 boasts a 14-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, a 16:10 aspect ratio, a 90% screen-to-body ratio, and a typical brightness of 300 nits. On the other hand, the MateBook D16 2023 features a larger 16-inch IPS LCD panel with the same resolution, aspect ratio, screen-to-body ratio, and brightness level as the D14.
Both displays offer eye protection mode to reduce blue light emission and adjust color temperature according to ambient light, as well as multi-touch input support for enhanced Windows 11 features.
Under the hood, the MateBook D14 2023 and MateBook D16 2023 are powered by the latest 13th Gen Intel processors with Iris Xe graphics. The MateBook D14 2023 offers two processor options: Core i5-1340P or Core i7-1360P, while the MateBook D16 2023 provides three options: Core i5-13500H, Core i7-13700H, or Core i9-1390H. The H series processors are more powerful and suitable for demanding tasks.
Both models come with 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 1TB of M.2 2280 SSD storage, and run on Windows 11 OS, which offers a new user interface, improved multitasking features, better security, and compatibility with Android apps.
In terms of battery life, the MateBook D14 2023 has a 56Wh battery that can last up to 10 hours on a single charge, while the MateBook D16 2023 has a larger 60Wh battery that can last up to 9 hours on a single charge. Both models support Huawei’s SuperCharge technology, allowing for quick charging of up to 50% in just half an hour with the included 65W USB-C charger.
Connectivity options for both models include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, four USB ports (two USB-C and two USB-A), an HDMI port for external monitors, and a headphone jack for audio output. Both models also feature a built-in 1080p webcam that can be easily popped up from the keyboard when needed, ensuring privacy and security. Dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support and dual microphones with noise cancellation provide clear audio quality.
One of the notable features of Huawei’s laptops is their seamless integration with Huawei smartphones. Users can leverage Huawei Share to transfer files wirelessly between devices, use Multi-screen Collaboration to mirror their phone’s screen on their laptop or vice versa, or utilize OneHop Projection to project their laptop’s screen on their phone or vice versa.

- The MateBook D16 2023 has a starting price of CNY 5,699 yuan (US$828 / Rs. 67,940 approx.) for the model with Core i5-13500H processor, 16GB RAM, and 1TB SSD.
