Google added 5G support for Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro users on Airtel and Jio in India with the QPR beta 2 update in January. With the latest March Pixel feature drop that rolled out for Pixel phones yesterday, 5G support is now available for all the users running the stable release, as it had promised.
This comes after months of testing and gathering feedback from the users on quality and usability during the beta stage.
As you can see from the screenshot, you now get a 5G option (enabled by default) in addition to LTE and 3G.
The update also enables improved Dual SIM Dual Standby on Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro that lets you enable 2 eSIMs at the same time without using the physical SIM. However, Google says that this feature will work only on select carriers or networks.
To remind you, the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro smartphones were launched in India back in October 2022, and it took 5 months for Google to bring 5G support for India.
